Q: I now have 2 Dropbox accounts for 2 different clients. They are paid for separately, have separate sign-ins and cannot be linked. I would like to have both accounts downloaded on my computer. I want to make sure that by downloading the Dropbox app for the new account it does not eliminate access for my very extensive existing files. How to manage this situation?

– A Question from Dropbox Forum

Can I have multiple Dropbox accounts on one computer?

Just as the Dropbox official site says, only Dropbox Business customers can have both a personal Dropbox account and a work Dropbox account on any computer, mobile devices, and on dropbox.com. They can sync multiple Dropbox accounts to a single device. Then if you're a Dropbox Basic, Dropbox Plus, or Dropbox Professional customer, like the user who ask question in forum above, is it possible to link two Dropbox accounts on one computer? Yes, there are two options for getting around this.

The first method: through the Dropbox website

If you don’t have a Dropbox Business account, you can access a second Dropbox account by signing in as another account on dropbox.com. For example, if you want to copy files from one account (X) to another (Y), you will need login account X first, manually download the files to computer, and then log out account X & sign in account Y, finally copy the files from computer to account Y. In this way, you'll have to switch between each user account to manager their files, which would be very time-consuming and annoying, especially when you need migrate files between multiple Dropbox accounts frequently. Fortunately, there is an easier way through a third-party cloud file manager – MultCloud to connect two Dropbox accounts.

An easier way: via MultCloud

MultCloud is a free Web based app which enables users put multiple cloud drives into one place for managing and transferring files across cloud. It supports almost all mainstream cloud storage services, including Google Drives, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, AmazonS3, FTP, Amazon S3, Cloudme, Cubby, Mydrive, WEB.DE, Yandex, Hidrive, Baidu, MediaFire, ownCloud, Alfresco, ADrive, Flickr, HubiC, Mysql, Evernote, MEGA, SugarSync and etc. With MultCloud, you can move files between different cloud service or multiple accounts within same cloud service directly, such as copy Dropbox to Google Drive, transfer from one FTP Server to another, sync multiple Google Drive accounts etc.

2. Click Add Cloud on the left side and select “Dropbox” from the cloud drive list, and then click Next.
